You can’t go wrong with pastel stripes! I paired this beautiful minty pastel top with a cute heart embroidered shorts. I love this bag I got from Choies. I couldn’t really tell whether it is cream colored or all white when I was getting it online as my monitor colour always deceives me. But I’m glad that this is really a true all white coloured item as I’ve been looking for a nice white bag for a while now.

Anyways, this is also a look featuring Vidal Sassoon x Chictopia Show Us Your Genius Campaign. I’ve decided to collaborate with them is because I’ve already been using VS products for the longest time. My hair curler and my hair dryer are both from VS and they have been really good to me!

For this campaign I went for my favorite natural curl using the Vidal Sassoon Repair Heat & Protect spray prepping my pair for curling. I reckon its quite important to use a heat protectant spray prior application since my hair is pretty dry from all the bleaching and coloring. I also received this great moisturizing formula for colored hair. I really like it as it keeps my hair more smooth and less tangled! It’s always a struggle for me to untangle my hair in the shower! On a side note, this moisturizing formula smells super good!

This parka got to be my favourite of all my other parkas. It also has a detachable hood that is great for the winter to protect my ears from the crazy wind here in Melbourne. My ears always become numb and very painful if they’re exposed to the cold air, although our weather is not nearly as cold as most countries!

I wore this parka with these burgundy shorts from MINKPINK. I like the colour combination of burgundy/wine with khaki. I think they look absolutely amazing worn together that reminds me of autumn colours. How do you usually like to wear your parka?

Chloe's Super Salad Recipe

I’ve been eating out almost daily lately and I thought I’d shake off this unhealthy feel with a week long diet and it’s going pretty well so far. Been feeling much more energized from this but the hardest thing to shake off is my cravings for sweets. The worst thing about diets is dull tasting food and I’ve been trying to find great tasting recipes and thought I’d blog and share this fantastic recipe for anyone else currently on diet. :)

Here is my Quinoa salad with roasted veges and pomegranate vinegar. Read more for the recipe if your interested :)

I’ve used some of my favourite vegetables for roasting, some nuts & seeds, and Quinoa as my source of protein. Quinoa is one of the most nutritious grains out there. Here’s some of the benefits I gathered from the interweb.

1) Quinoa is one of the most protein-rich food we can eat. Hooray for vegetarians and vegans!
2) Quinoa contains almost twice as much fiber as most other grains. Less likely to get constipation!
3) Quinoa is rich in magnesium. Magnesium helps to relax blood vessels and thereby to alleviate migraines
4) Quinoa has a high content of manganese which is an antioxidant!

I’ve also been consuming more nuts and seeds lately. Most nuts and seeds have heaps of health benefits. Instead of snacking on potato chips, try to substitute it with nuts/seeds!

Okay here’s the ingredient for this recipe! The ingredients here are approx 3-4 servings.

1) 2 Broccoli
2) 1 Cauliflower
3) 1 Sweet potato
4) 1 Eggplant
5) 250g Mushroom
6) 1 tbsp Pomegranate vinegar for each serving (Pom juice if you can’t find vinegar)
7) 1/2 tbsp Balsamic vinegar for each serving
8) Pine nuts
9) Pumpkin seeds
10) Lime or Lemon
11)1 cup of Quinoa

I just cut them into the broccoli, cauliflower, eggplant and sweet potato into small pieces. Coat them with olive oil by tossing them in a big mixing bowl and season them with salt and pepper! I usually set my oven to 180 degree celsius for roasting. Sweet potato takes the longest to cook, so I usually put them in the order of Sweet potato, eggplant, cauliflower, broccoli, and then mushroom last. I like my eggplant a bit crunchy on the outside hence it goes into the oven for quite a long time.

Next to cook to quinoa, I just simply follow the recipe here. I like it a little more crunchy so I added a little less water!

Here’s a trick if you have a small oven or only have one baking tray. I usually have the sweet potato, eggplant and cauliflower into the oven together, and then approx 30-40 mins later, I take out my cauliflower and add the broccoli in. After the broccoli goes in for 10 mins (with the sweet potato and eggplant still inside the oven), add the mushrooms for another 10 mins. Then the roast should be done, this process takes me about an hour.

Now that they are all cook, just chuck them into a bowl and add the pomegranate vinegar and balsamic vinegar. For every serving I add about 1 tablespoon of pomegranate vinegar, 1/2 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar, a squeeze of lime. Pomegranate vinegar is probably the hardest ingredient to find in this receipe, so just substitute with pom juice if you can’t find it, and increase ur amount of balsamic vinegar to balance our the sweetness/sourness. I’ve also added pine nuts and pumpkin seed here, but you can change it up by adding other nuts that you prefer! Almond is good too. You can also add roasted chicken breast if you like some meat!

I hope you guys try this out, because this is pretty good plus its healthy! Taste better than it looks too!

Diamond print pants! I can’t believe that I gave in and got a pair of body hugging pants. I personally prefer not to wear body hugging items but I had to make an exception this time as the prints on this pants is pretty cool :)

A simple tip for wearing loud prints is to pair it with the basics, and here I am just wearing it with a black jumper. Threw on some accessories with a hat, a pop of colour from my studded bag, and voila! Today’s OOTD :)

Watch Out Bomber

I’ve always wanted a baseball bomber jacket, but I’ve always been quite picky when it comes to these jackets. I really like this one because it has simple detailing and most importantly it doesn’t have any characters, logo, etc.

For this look, I paired my jacket with a dip dye denim skirt and a simple tee! If your going for a similar look, I reckon that this jacket could go well with any denim bottoms. More photos with the link below!

Does anyone notice anything different about my photos? I’ve finally gotten a new lens, its the EF 135mm f/2L USM Lens! I’ve been looking for a good lens for a while now and finally found this one! This lens definitely gives the result that I was looking for, that is the blurred or bokeh background. One thing that might put you off is that the photographer has to stand quite a bit further away. That doesn’t concern me since I had to stand far away from the camera using my old lens!

This is also a prime lens, so you won’t be able to zoom in/out! I personally prefer zoom lens just because I am too lazy to move forward or backward to capture an image. However to achieve sharpness, a good prime lens would be better! :)

Here’s a spring inspired outfit featuring Beginning Boutique floral crown and pastel colours! I was going for a girly look so I paired my JC wedges with a pair of lace socks, and when it comes to girly outfits I always have a tendency to go for my old time favourite vintage bag! This bag is more than 20 years old and it belongs to my mom. My mom tends to gives away most of her old clothes and bags and I always try to get myself first dibs on the vintage pieces haha :)

It’s been a while since I wore a turband and I absolutely miss wearing it! I chose a nude colour for this studded turband as it goes well with most grungy outfits.

I paired this beautiful cheetah print kimono with a basic tee and a pleated faux leather skirt. The fringe detail caught my attention when I first laid my eyes on it. Can never get enough of fringe detailing apparel. Finally to complete the outfit, my trusty pair of Tardy’s get to come out and play :)

I am obsessed with headpieces, whether its a hat, turband, floral crown, hair band, etc. just love em all! Whenever you’re feeling under-dressed, its always a good idea to throw on a headpiece to compensate.

Threw on this lovely cardigan which is pretty warm and comfy. Loving that it’s bright yellow as well! Felt the need to wear this Cleata to complete the look. An good alternative would have been a pair of nude or white sandals as well. :)

I’ve been wearing this monochrome floral blazer often lately as I like that it is unique and different to commonly seen floral prints. I appreciate the more subtle look and feel of it, as you normally find floral prints being more colourful and bright. I paired it with a leather skirt by May the Label and a crop top. I love pairing a crop top with a blazer, it just makes the overall look so much more edgy :)

Who else is loving the daisy trend? I have been contemplating whether I should be getting a daisy print clothing as I’ve seen it everywhere, from online stores to high fashion such as Prada. It’s almost like the Simpson trend going on last season. I actually think they are pretty damn cute but I didn’t feel like getting one because I see it everywhere! Having said that, I couldn’t resist this cute crop jumper so I had to get it! Weather here has been chilly so I get to pair it with this fluffy beanie :)

Alice McCall is one of the most recognised Australian brand born in 2004. It’s girlish appeal, bohemian youthfulness and sexiness are known as Alice McCall designs. It’s never difficult to spot a Alice McCall design as it has its own uniqueness.

This collection is absolutely beautiful showing its girlish charm and youthfulness. The sheer fabrics and cut out detailing, structured shoulder and metallic platform wedges are some of the main features of this season collection.The mixture of sheer fabric and laser cut detailing is ingenious!

Would love to add some of these pieces to my wardrobe as I’m easily seduced by feminine apparels. I couldn’t take my eyes off the flowy pieces at the runway show last week. Love the frill detailing on the sleeves that creates a floating effect, along with the silk bottoms that gives an enhanced flowy silhouettes. Hope you like them as much as I do!
