I’ve only been back in Melbourne for just two weeks or so and I’m already starting to miss Asian food. Not too sure where my next destination is, but here’s a round-up of pictures from my Singapore trip.
The food in Singapore is absolutely delicious. I have a feeling I am going back there soon to have all their local hawker’s food. I always look forward to eating their local food, especially their hokkien noodles, char kuey teow and oyster omelette. Katong Laksa is my absolute favourite too. You have to give it a try if you’re in Singapore. I always have two bowls when I get a chance to have them, as it’s just way too good. I have never tasted anything as good as that over here in Melbourne.
Other than their local delights, somehow I enjoy Japanese food a lot too in Singapore. Sushi Tei was my favourite. There is an exciting variety of food in Singapore. Just head to any basement or the top level of any major malls and you’ll be satisfied. I usually tend to go for Asian food since we have a great selection of western and Italian restaurants here in Melbourne.
I didn’t get a chance to eat a lot during my recent trip to Singapore, as we were mostly at fashion events, but I did manage to try their Hainanese chicken rice, and that was so awesome. The Singaporean bloggers brought us there, so sadly I have no idea where it was, and didn’t manage to take any photos. Other than that I had most of my meals around Orchard Gateway (where I stayed). I usually will not miss a meal when I’m on holiday or else I’ll be mad that I have wasted a meal experience! I hope this doesn’t make me sound like a pig haha. I can’t wait to go back to Singapore, but I think this time I need to venture out and try new places!
Here’s some of the photos I took when I visited Singapore. The xiao long bao from Crystal Jade is my all-time favourite.
Buffet at Todai.
Local food: Stingray, Char Kuey Teow, Roast pork, Hokkien Noodles. These are my favourite! I am getting so hungry just looking at these pictures.
These are always so tempting. Those squid balls. haha!
Fish and Co deliciousness.
Din Tai Fung.
Katong Laksa! I’m drooling right now. I need to go to Singapore right now!
I hope these Singapore food photos didn’t make you too hungry.
