Winter’s officially here and our final days of sunshine have now passed with the mercury set to drop in the coming days. I’ve been meaning to book my Summer flight tickets but due to some work commitments I haven’t gotten a chance, but hopefully will soon.
The destinations that currently top my lists are the ones that I find the most aesthetically pleasing for photos and it’s really hard not to find an Instagrammable spot in their beautiful cities. Although I’ve been to some of these countries in the list already, there’s lots more towns and cities I haven’t explored which is why it’s still on my list. So here’s what made my current top 3 destinations if you’re in need of some travel inspirations, followed by several other destinations which I hope to get to someday as well.
Greece has so many beautiful islands and I’ve only been to the most popular two being Santorini and Mykonos. Flights into Santorini can easily sell out during peak season though so I’m definitely looking to checking out the less populated islands like Corfu, Paros, Kos, Milos and Zakynthos just to avoid the crowd during peak season.
Best time to visit with great prices would be May or September, right before and after peak season hits and also cause I’m not a fan of the scorching hot sun during Summer just cause of my skin type.
Although I’ve spent a good 3 weeks here before, there’s still so much to see and I badly want to make another trip to explore more off beat tracks. Each of it’s cities is uniquely beautiful and they have too many beautiful coastal towns and beaches. I think South Italy has lots to offer and is quite undiscovered, that also goes for islands that are off the mainland like Sardinia or Procida. When I was in a town called Lecce in the south, there were hardly any tourist around and I was told by a local if they did have tourist, 80% or so would be local Italians anyways.
Besides flights to Rome, theres lots of options flying into Italy as you can definitely nab cheap tickets to a neighboring stopover country (like Dubai, France, Turkey) and travel into one of their many cities by low cost carriers, train or ferry!
Morrocco’s a beautiful country which is now getting known for more than just the Sahara dessert. Lots of earthy tone atmosphere and beautiful architectures make this a great destination with lots of photo ops. Getting in should be easy enough. Most flights go through Doha or Dubai, or via a low cost carrier if you can make your way to Spain which is just above it.
So thats my top 3 spots at the moment. Where’s yours? Some other destinations I hope to check out one day would be:-
Bolivia; to see the massive salt flat.
Brazil; to visit the Lençóis Maranhenses
Peru; to see the Huacachina
and Iceland; to swim in the Pingvallavatn Lake
