Hello blog readers! I’m so sorry I’ve been neglecting you, but no more cause here’s a new blog post! So I’ve been living in Australia for over 12 years now and I can’t believe I’ve never stepped foot into South Australia, and I recently did so for the first time on a trip to Barossa Valley with Novotel Resorts with the girls and it was a great weekend experience. I definitely need to explore more in the region but here’s what we got up to on our long weekend trip.
We stayed and checked in to Novotel on a Friday night and just chill with the girls. It was really nice to get to know the girls better, and enjoying our late night supper! Woke up the next day with breakfast in bed with the girls. We actually shoot this on our balcony because it was really early in the morning and quite gloomy as well. haha. We then head off to the farm to enjoy their local produce, we were very lucky to have Saskia Beer presenting the dishes and teaching us how to prepare a simple and delicious meal using their fresh produce.
We were then off to see the nature, local farm and came back to the hotel and have more food prepared by the Cellar Kitchen!
We had a bit of a break and then… surprise surprise! We had more food. Dinner time by The Cellar Kitchen! The girls had the prawn pasta and apparently it was amazing! The desserts though, they were so good! Chocolate hazelnut fudge heaven!
I’m surprised at how much we did the next day. First we hopped on the hot hair balloon with Barossa Valley Ballooning. I was honestly quite afraid because it was quite a tight space and I am also afraid of height. Claustrophobic and fear of height together. I had a mini panic attack when I first board on the balloon so I had to put on my earphones to calm myself down. I bring my earphones everywhere I go because of my anxiety problem. I’ve talked my anxiety issues on my blog in the past but I don’t really share much of that. It has gotten so much better this year considering that I couldn’t get on flights, buses, trains, and even going to the malls or cinemas when I first had it. It was a long recovery process but it will get better and better. I’m slowly introducing the things that I used to enjoy and hot air balloon was one of steps to conquer my anxiety issue. I was an adrenaline junkie back then before all these problems. Can’t wait to be able to do crazy things that I used to do with my cousins. We used to jump of our roofs (not recommended!!) and do loads of crazy stuffs. We were crazy bunch!
I got a bit off topic over there. We then went to Jacob Creeks Winery for wine tasting and had our lunch there as well. The food was amazing! We were so spoiled with amazing food during this trip. We then head to Maggie Beer’s farm shop to have a browse and the scenery was just absolutely beautiful. The first photo from this blog post was taken there!
We had a pretty relaxing evening, had room service and chatting to the girls! We were so exhausted but we had an amazing experience. Spoiled with a lot of delicious food and fresh produce! Hope you guys enjoyed this blog post!
