Banyan Tree Bintan was my final destination on my trip to Bintan Island with Wonderful Indonesia. Located a mere 10 minute drive away from the ferry terminal, you can easily get to and fro with their hotel transfer and enjoy more of your holiday minutes under the sun.
There are actually 2 hotels under the Banyan Tree umbrella that are situated next to each other and share the same beach. Angsana Hotel & Resorts is more family oriented, while Banyan Tree Bintan has a more nature, and luxurious feel to it because of their wonderful villas. Adrian and I opt for Banyan Tree Bintan as suited our preference. A third property Cassia is being build up so you can tell Bintan is a growing island especially if you’re looking for something different to the ever so popular Bali.
When we arrived and was brought to our villa, we were truly mesmerized. This villa has its own private pool overlooking the South China Sea and is just majestic. You could comfortably fit 2 couples in here as there’s 2 separate rooms with indoor and outdoor showers, and a natural spa. Such a great spot for a romantic getaway or a girl’s weekend together, you don’t even have to leave your villa! Below are some photos of the villa we stayed in. We chose to have breakfast in our villa because I wanted that instagram shot! haha.
As much as we wanted to sleep in and enjoy the villa all day, we had to go out and get some sun. As the villa is quite huge, it’s great that you can just flag a buggy right outside your doorstep to take you around. The beach and sports centre was 5 minutes away and we started off we jetskiiing which I’ve never done before. Took some photos and video footage of it but sadly the sky was black and gloomy that hour so it didn’t come out looking nice. We then did some ATV activity around their jungle track which was good fun as you get to drive past some very local villages and farms which would probably be harder to get to on foot. We didn’t get to enjoy the full spread of activities due to time constraints, but we did manage to squeeze in a quick hour of massages before the sun went down. Set up at the highest point of the resort, you get amazing paranomic views of the island and with the cool breeze and relaxing music, luxurious pampering couldn’t get any better than this! If you caught my YouTube video, you might caught a glimpse of us having dinners by the rocks. Banyan Tree has 5 destination dining options if you need to make this trip epic, and I can assure you they will not disappoint!
Other than that, there are 2 restaurants in this resort, Saffron – serving award winning Thai cuisine, and Treetops – Serving amazing “I want this everyday” authentic Indonesian cuisine. On our first night we had Saffron which we really liked, it was so good and as authentic as the food I had in Thailand, but after we had lunch at Treetops on the 2nd day, it was the clear winner for us and we had to return for a second meal here. I’m not a huge fan of satays and peanut sauce, as well as barbequed fish cakes (otak otak), but I completely loved their versions so that’s saying a lot! Anyways, mouth-watering pictures below to make you hungry. Enjoy!
Before I end this post, there are also two more infinity pools in the resort facing the sea. Simply beautiful! Hope you enjoyed this post and watch my video if you want to see more of the resort!
